Week 14 Progress

 Week 14 Progress:

For this week's progress, I was to finish the textures for the gun for the character to hold. After the last critique session, I took something into account for the gun. the emissive in the outer part of the gun was changed to a metallic texture. The other thing that was added was to add a complementary color for the gun, and I added gold plating on certain parts of the gun that needed some variation like the buttons and the charging port. The final thing that was changed was the removal of a piece of geometry from the high poly. The reason I removed it was that part added nothing to the design and was just in the way at that point.

The next thing I finished up was picking up the rigging progress from 3 weeks ago. First, I set up the joint layout for the character. Then I set up the joint rotations to the correct positions. Finally set up the skeleton for IK.  I bound the mesh to the skeleton and did a little weight painting to fix the arms since that was giving me problems the last time I did this.

After setting that up I went into the Actor Core website to get a motion for a character holding dual-wielded guns. setting up the process is similar to the workflow in motion capture. I defined both the character and the motions. Then I baked the animation to the character as well parent constraining the weapon to the joints, so it follows the motion.

For what I am going to do for the next week is clean up the motion and have it set up for rendering.
